Spring & Summer 2013 Beauty Must Haves

Spring & Summer 2013 Beauty Must Haves

Hey y'all! Now that the weather changing and becoming warmer, I wanted to share with you some of my Spring & Summer must haves (beauty edition). I know that ever since I started my YouTube channel I have been pretty absent from my blog and I want to apologize for that. I know that not everyone likes to watch videos or even has the time to let things buffer and listen to me chat away haha. So I just wanted to sit down and share my thoughts with my readers.

First is a staple for me when the weather starts to warm up and that is a bright lip! I love to add a pop of color on the lips and it definitely helps to make a statement. Coral is always a great choice for Spring and Summer as well as a nice Hot Pink. One specific brand and line I have been loving for a bright lip has been the Maybelline Vivids collection. There are a lot of different colors to choose from, a nice pink to a gorgeous plum color. The pigmentation is AH-MAZE BALLS!! I really like the moisturization that they give my lips. They definitely don't dry out my lips or even feather. They stay in place and look fabulous for quite awhile. The staying power rivals that of my MAC lipsticks. The price ranges from $6.00 to $8.00 depending where you get them. The cheapest I have found is at Wal-Mart and they were around $5.50 there.

Second would be a beautiful pastel nail color. I have already blogged about my favorite pastel nail polish and that is the Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear Polish in Lacy Lilac. It is a beautiful creamy lilac color that has amazing stay power and it is opaque as well. I have always heard great things about this particular formula from many different people. It hasn't let me down yet. You can go for the trend of NEON!!! I am lusting after China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy. It is the brightest neon pink but whenever I go to the store to get it....they are sold out :( Ultimately, you can not go wrong with pastel or neon for Spring & Summer.

Third is a nice dewy foundation. During the winter a matte foundation is probably the most flattering but once the weather heats up, it is all about the glow. You can add any type of liquid highlighter to your favorite foundation to add that glow to your skin. Just make sure not to add too much because you don't want to look oily. I would say that however much foundation you use, put about 1/4 of that as liquid highlighter.

Lastly, I wanted to add to my Spring & Summer must haves is to have fun! Warm weather is all about going outside or taking on new adventures. Just make sure to stay safe :)

L'OREAL Wear Intense Studio Secrets Eye Shadow Quad in 320 Greens

L'OREAL 320 Greens Review

Hello All!!! I wanted to do a quick review on a product that I purchased and was disappointed with. When I saw that it was on sale, I had to pick it up. I am a sucker for sales in the beauty department haha. This product looked absolutely gorgeous in the packaging and I couldn't wait to use it.

The reasons that I am disappointed with this product are that this product has poor pigmentation all around as well as the colors don't blend easily. The two lightest shades are almost worthless when it comes to showing up on my eyes. The green color is really pretty but you need to build it up to have any type of impact. Lastly, the pretty plum color is really hard to blend. All in all the texture of the shadows is ok. They aren't anything that I would brag about.

(The Left are swatches without a primer and the Right are swatches with a primer)

I have tried using this quad multiple ways and have ultimately come to the conclusion that it will be used for those days where I am feeling like a more natural look on my eyes. This quad is currently being sold at Wal-Mart for $5.97 and I would say skip it. I really wouldn't recommend this product to anyone other than those maybe starting out in makeup and want to play around with some lightly pigmented color. Ulta Cheek Color in After Glow

Is that an After Glow you have?

I wanted to share with everyone my current blush obsession and it is the Ulta Cheek Color in After Glow. I honestly cannot believe that this had sat in my collection for months before I even gave it a try. I guess in my defense, I had tried some Ulta eye shadows and hated them. I must have thought that I would hate this blush as well, WRONG!!

The reason I love this blush so much is that it gives me the perfect color that imitates that "I was just out in the cold for 20 minutes and now I'm perfectly flushed" look. It is a very pretty peachy pink color with some shimmer that helps to give your cheeks a really nice sheen that doesn't look oily. It also blends like a dream! The pigmentation is really nice as well for being a drugstore blush. I really only have to swirl my brush into it and have just enough product to give me the right amount of color.

(Left is a concentrated swatch and the Right is a sheered out swatch)

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an affordable blush that gives a beautiful sheen with amazing color pay off. It retails at Ulta for $7.00 and ulta.com. I really hope that you give it a try because I have been obsessed with it lately. If you have any further questions about this product please leave them in the comments below!

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters in Peach Parfait

I'll take the Peach Parfait, please!

Hello all, I wanted to do a review on a product that has been a staple lip product for me since this past spring. It is one of the Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters. I have been using the color Peach Parfait like a mad woman! I went to use it the other day and realized that it is over half gone.

Some of the reasons why I have used this product so much is the fact that is so moisturizing on my lips. It feel as though you are putting a lip balm on. They also give off a really pretty shine when you apply them. The shine lasts until you eat, drink, or talk quite a bit. One of the most surprising things about this product is the amount of color pay off they have. When I first say them I was a little skeptical but after I tried this one, I instantly went out and bought more. I honestly can't get enough of them.

This particular shade is a really pretty peachy pink with some shimmer within it. Not all of the lip butters have shimmer but this one does. The shimmer isn't large pieces of glitter but more very little pieces of shimmer. You honestly don't even feel the shimmer on your lips when you apply it. The color is beautiful when you apply it and I will be very sad when I use it all. Don't worry, I'll go buy a replacement for it. ;)

All in all, I just wanted to share my love for this particular shade and product. They are sold in most drugstores as well as Ulta. The prices vary at each store. I have seen them as low as $7.00 and as high as $9.00. I would definitely take advantage of the buy one get one 1/2 off at Walgreens (they have this quite a lot). If you have any further questions about this product feel free to leave them in the comments below!
