Want Shiny, Soft Hair?

Moroccan Argan Oil

Have you ever wanted shiny, soft hair like the models have on commercials? Well look no further than Moroccan Argan Oil!!! This oil works wonders when it comes to giving your hair the shine that you lust after. This penetrating oil gives your hair the most beautiful sheen that I have ever seen my hair possess! Even after flat ironing my hair (which usually dries it out a little) my hair has been soft all day long. Also, it doesn't hurt that is smells delicious!! I cannot stress how much I love what this product does for my hair.

Background
"This rare formula has a centuries-old history of providing natural vitamin E and antioxidants while renewing your hair's cell structure, sealing in shine, and creating lush softness. A precious blend of Moroccan argan oil which instantly penetrates the hair shaft restoring shine and softness while strengthening. Derived from the southwest region of Morocco, argan oil protects from styling heat and UV damage while creating soft, seductive, silky perfection."-Ulta Website
Who can compete with a formula that is rare and centuries old? It must be good to have a description like this ;)

How To Use This Product
When I use this product (and how it is instructed on the packaging) my hair is towel dried and damp still. I use a small dime sized amount (the amount will vary with thickness and length of hair) in my palm, rub it in my hands and then evenly distribute it throughout my hair, avoiding my roots. It can be used on dry hair but I would use no more than half of what you would use when your hair is wet. This could cause your hair to look oily.

Where To Purchase?
You can find many different brands and variations of this product. You can find just Moroccan oil, Argan oil, or a combination of both. Different brands and combinations will make the price vary, but the Organix brand (the one I use) is available at almost all drugstores (Wal-Mart, Target, etc). I purchased mine at Ulta for $7.99 and it will last me a VERY long time!

I hope that you have enjoyed this review/recommendation. Let me know if you try this out and what you think about it in the comments!  Also, don't forget to leave any suggestions for product reviews or future blogs in the comments!

Revlon Review

Revlon Review!

I recently went to target and found quite a few Revlon items on sale and just couldn't resist picking a couple things up. I picked up two eyeshadow quads and was a little hesitant on the quality of them due to their status as "clearance" BUT I was pleasantly surprised!! Below I am going to swatch and review how they apply and how the last throughout the day. I have never really been a Revlon type of gal but these quads may have converted me!

This quad is named 03 Neutral Khakis, I absolutely love this quad for a nice evening neutral eye. I have brown eyes and the green and gold colors really help to highlight my eye color. The only problem I have with this quad is that the I have to build up the color on the highlight but after I pack it on, it is one of the prettiest colors!!
Here are some swatches of the colors moving from lightest (on the left) to the darkest (on the right). I love these colors and they work really well with my eye color (brown), skin tone (pale), and hair color (red).

This quad is  named 14 Nude Elements, and this quad is perfect for an everyday natural look. I usually wear this when I just want to have a nice look that has color but isn't super noticeable that I have color on my eyelids. I have no complaints with this quad at all and I really enjoy using this quad on a daily basis.
Here are the swatches of this quad and all the colors are really pigmented and swatch beautifully. I am absolutely in LOVE with these colors. The color on the left is the lightest and then move toward the darkest on the right.

These quads apply so easily with very little fall out. If you use a primer (I use Urban Decay's Primer Potion) they will last you at least 10 hours. I recently wore one for almost 14 hours and noticed a little bit of creasing but nothing that a blending brush couldn't fix. I definitely recommend these quads for everyday and even a cute night look.

Get to Know Corinne

 Get to Know Me!

This blog post is a chance for you all to get to know me. I am going to share some basic facts about me. I may make a mini-series where I share more intimate facts or just funny things that happen to me day to day. These blogs will not be beauty related but serve as a way to get to know me on a more personal level.

Where were you Born?
I was born in Quincy, Il (it is right on the Mississippi river). It was Mother's Day and for being born on this day Mars Candy Bars gave me a $50.00 savings bond!! How sweet ;) I guess you can say that I gave my mom the best Mother's Day present ever, her first child!

Any Siblings?
I have one sibling, a younger sister named Courtney. We couldn't be any more opposite and similar, but what sisters aren't. She had brown hair and a deeper complexion and I have red hair and super pale. I am told that we have similar voices that sound just like my mom. I love her to death and try to always look out for her.

Any Pets?
I have two pets, a cat named Sugar and a goldfish who is PJ. I have had sugar for as long as I can remember and I won PJ at a carnival 2.5 years ago. I love both of them so much and I don't know what I would do without them. While I am at school, my sister takes care of Sugar at home and PJ travels with me back and forth during breaks and the summer.

What is your Major?
I am studying History with a Secondary Education minor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am a junior and absolutely love being an Illini! I enjoy learning about the past and how it affects what we have today. I really look forward to becoming a teacher and sharing my passion of social sciences with future generations.

Who is your Dream Date?
My dream date is definitely Ryan Gosling! I think he is absolutely gorgeous and who wouldn't love to be on a date with Noah from The Notebook??? He just has eyes that look into your soul and touch you. I would absolutely be speechless (this NEVER happens) if he ever asked me out on a date. But if I had to choose a date with anyone alive or dead, I would definitely choose Abraham Lincoln (and here is where the history major kicks in haha). The reason being that I am really obsessed with learning about the Civil War (1861-1865) and how smoothly Lincoln handled the stress of the union breaking up in his first term as president. I would absolutely have a heart attack if this was possible.

This was so fun to share all of these things with you all! If you have any questions you want me to answer in the next Get to Know Me! feel free to comment below and I will answer them. I hope that you found this interesting and stay tuned for more upcoming blogs about beauty and more!

Beauty Essentials Drug Store Edition

Beauty Essentials!! Drug Store Edition

1.) Eye Primer

This product will make sure that your eye shadow stays all day, doesn't crease, and make the colors more vibrant. There are many different drug store eye primers but I find that this one has the best reviews and I enjoy it the most. (Wal-Mart $7.97)

2.) Face Primer
Just like the eye primer, this will make sure that your foundation or powder will stay on all day. I couldn't survive without this primer. It makes my make up go on smoother and allows it to stay all day. I don't have to worry about my foundation sliding or reapplying my powder over and over again throughout the day. (@Wal-Mart $9.98)

3.) Brushes
These brushes will make your life so much simpler!!! Brushes make your make up go on so smoothly (granted some brushes may cause streaking but they really do help more than sponges). I really like the eco tools brushes and they are really affordable compared to MAC brushes or other companies. (@Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreen and prices vary).

4.) Eye Shadow Quad
Having an eye shadow quad will be so beneficial because you can do so many looks with just for colors. You can use just one shade when you are in a hurry, or use three of the colors to make an easy every day look. I really like Cover Girl eye shadows because they are so pigmented and super affordable. They also have a very big selection of quads. (@Wal-Mart $4.97)

5.) Natural Blush
A natural blush will become a staple in your daily look. Cover Girl's cheekers blushes are one of the best drug store blushes out there. They are really pigmented and you get a lot of product for the money you spend. I have used these blushes since high school and I have never come across a single one I didn't like. A couple of sweeps of this on your cheeks will give you that beautiful flushed look. (@Wal-Mart $3.74)

6.) Foundation (Or tinted Moisturizer)
Having a foundation or tinted moisturizer OR both will even out your skin tone and give you that perfect complexion that every girl wants. Depending on how much coverage you want will make your decision on which one you want easier. If you want more coverage then you will want a foundation, there are tons of great drug store foundations. Less coverage will lead you towards a tinted moisturizer, I love the Cover Girl Nature Luxe!!! It is easy to apply and lasts all day. (@ Wal-Mart $9.74)

7.) Natural Lip Color
Having a natural lip color that is moisturizing will save your lips and your look. The Revlon lip butters are AMAZING!! They have color to them and are so moisturizing. I LOVE these!!! They come is a variety of colors so you have a big selection of colors. (@Target $6.49)

8.) Mascara
Mascara definitely depends on what you want your lashes to look like and what type of formula you like, but I absolutely love the Maybelline Falsies Mascara. After I curl my lashes and apply this, my lashes look so long and luscious!! I have all three of the falsies (flared, original, and waterproof)!!! (@Wal-Mart $5.94)

I hope this helped anyone that is starting to get into makeup and is on a budget!! If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to comment and I will try out new products or answer questions!

Corinne

2.) MAC's Calm Cool Collected

This product is so pigmented and easy to work with!! I love the way this looks when I do a look with it and I feel like it would flatter anyone (any skin tone and eye color). This product definitely lives up to the MAC name!!! ($13.95, Discontinued :/ )

3.) Urban Decay's De Slick

This product really does live up to its promises! I use this before I go out and my make up stays through all my crazy antics!! I love this and couldn't survive without it!!! Definitely work the money (if you are skeptical, Ulta has a trial size for $12.00)!!!!!! ($29.00 @ Ulta)

4.) Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

This product is so much fun to play with. I love using it because it takes me back to my childhood. It just so unique! I love the color pay off of this blush (plum wine) and how it goes on. It goes on like a cream blush but finishes like a powder blush. I CAN'T wait to get them all!! ($6.99 @ Target)

5.) Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden

If I didn't have this product to prime my lids, I would go crazy! I love the eden formula more than the other two because I feel as though it evens out the skin on your eyelids and makes the colors more vibrant. I wear this all day and my shadows NEVER crease!! I even deepen up my shadows for a night look and I have never had any problems with that! So in love! ($16.00 @ Ulta)
